Power gets most of the attention in disaster response planning. Water is usually the system that fails first — and the hardest one to resupply. GTG's mobile emergency water and power unit pairs a Flux Ember mobile power system with a GTG 1,000-liter atmospheric water generator on a single towable trailer, producing potable water on site without a source, a convoy, or a grid connection.

Water is the first system to fail

Grid loss halts pumping, treatment and distribution — taps can go dry within hours, not days. Flooding, main breaks or chemical intrusion can make existing supply unsafe even when pressure holds. And bottled water resupply depends on trucks, fuel, passable roads and warehousing — exactly the logistics chain a disaster tends to remove first. The WHO/Sphere minimum of 15 liters per person per day means a 500-person shelter needs 7,500 liters daily, and water convoys are consistently the single heaviest logistics burden in the first 72 hours of any response.

One trailer, three integrated subsystems

From ambient air to potable water in four stages

Ambient air is drawn through a filtered intake, removing airborne particulates before processing. The air is then cooled below its dew point, so water vapor condenses and collects in an internal reservoir. That water passes through a seven-stage EZ-Filter chain — HEPA air, dual UV lamps, sediment, pre- and post-carbon, an ultra-fine membrane, and mineralization — before being dispensed or piped to storage. The result is water meeting or exceeding WHO purity standards, fully independent of existing water infrastructure: no wells, mains or source water required, and no plastic waste stream from bottled water.

Output depends on the air, not the aquifer

Atmospheric water generation output scales with ambient temperature and humidity rather than a fixed source capacity. At the unit's rated condition — 30°C / 86°F and 80% relative humidity — the 1,000L unit produces its rated 1,000 liters per day. Output climbs with higher humidity and temperature, reaching roughly 1,359 liters per day at 40°C / 104°F and 90% relative humidity, and drops off at cooler, drier conditions — production is negligible near freezing regardless of humidity. That means site and season matter when planning a deployment, but the underlying resource — ambient moisture — is present almost everywhere a response is likely to be needed.

Alert to first water, targeted under two hours

The deployment sequence is designed to be fast: activation order received with the unit pre-staged and tow-ready, hitched and mobilized within roughly 30 minutes, road-legal transit to the incident site, site setup — leveling, positioning for airflow, energizing Flux Ember and starting the AWG — within about 30 minutes of arrival, and a target of under two hours from alert to first water dispensed.

What 1,000 liters a day actually supports

At the Sphere minimum of 15 liters per person per day for all domestic uses, a single unit supports roughly 66 people. Scaled to survival drinking water only, that same output can support over 300 people; as a field medical or triage station supply, it can support roughly 20 patients at typical clinical water demand. As shelter supplemental supply, 1,000 liters a day offsets roughly 2,000 half-liter bottles — along with the convoy required to deliver them.

Where it fits: hurricanes, wildfire, contamination, remote care

Compared to trucking water in

Bottled water and tanker trucking both depend on an intact source, continuous road access and recurring resupply trips — exactly the conditions a disaster disrupts. An AWG trailer unit depends only on ambient air and periodic fuel resupply for the power system, generates no bottled-water waste stream, and targets first water in under two hours. It isn't a replacement for bulk distribution at scale — but for shelters, staging areas and isolated populations in the critical first phase of a response, it removes the water-convoy dependency entirely.
