Depending on the site, options can include onsite generation, microgrids, hybrid utility architectures, storage and phased capacity.

Engineer for reliability

Redundancy, maintenance, black start, fuel resilience, controls and failure domains should be defined before equipment selection.

Check the site realities

Fuel, emissions, acoustics, land, heat rejection, permitting and interconnection requirements can determine whether an option is viable.

Model economics against time

Compare capital and operating cost with utility upgrades, carrying cost, schedule exposure and the value of reaching operation earlier.
